About Us
The Joint Breast Cancer Registry (JBCR) is a national consortium comprising clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals dedicated to advancing breast cancer research in Singapore.
As a comprehensive and highly granular repository, the Registry maintains data on breast cancer patients treated in Singapore since 1990. This ethics-approved, consent-waived prospective Registry serves as an invaluable resource of real-world evidence, supporting numerous clinical studies, retrospective reviews, and strategic healthcare planning.
Our Scope of Research
While we conduct extensive clinical research, our work also reaches beyond the clinical setting to examine public health, service utilisation, social determinants of health, and the economic aspects of cancer care. We are also at the forefront of integrating deep learning and other advanced computational methods into our research framework to address emerging challenges in oncology.
By utilising high-granularity real-world data, JBCR-supported studies investigate vital areas such as ethnic disparities in treatment outcomes and side effects, the evaluation of global healthcare performance metrics, and the creation of deep learning-based risk prediction models. These initiatives are designed to shape evidence-based strategies for personalised medicine and to support the development of community-based shared care models that empower breast cancer survivors.
