According to the Singapore Cancer Registry Annual Report 2022, breast cancer remains the most common cancer diagnosed in females, with more than 13,000 cases reported in the period 2018 – 2022. It is also the leading cause of cancer death in women in Singapore.
Every October marks the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), a national campaign to raise awareness for this cause. This year, with the theme 'Act Now, Live Strong', we aim to empower women to take action today for a stronger tomorrow by:
(a) increasing public awareness of breast cancer and healthy lifestyle changes;
(b) motivating women to undergo mammogram screening; and
(c) celebrating breast cancer patients and survivors.
SingHealth and our partners on the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025 Organising Committee has planned a great line-up of public events this October. Check them out below, register and save the dates in your calendar!

Singapore Cancer Society (in collaboration with National Library Board) “If I feel fine, do I really need a mammogram?” Yes! Most early-stage breast cancers don’t show any symptoms, which means you could feel completely well and still have breast cancer. Screening is the best way to catch it early—when treatment works best. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Singapore. In fact, 1 in 13 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, especially those aged 40 and above. And its impact goes beyond the individual—it affects families and communities too. Early detection often means simpler treatment and, most importantly, more precious time with your loved ones. As part of our partnership with the National Library Board (NLB), we invite you to learn more and take action this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 👉 Don’t wait—register now for your mammogram and take the first step towards beating breast cancer early!
