Profile

​Dr Wong Fuh Yong is a Senior Consultant with the Division of Radiation Oncology, NCCS. He received his medical education at NUS and qualified as a Clinical Oncologist with the Royal college of Radiology, UK in 2007. He specializes in breast oncology, neuro-oncology and the use of stereotactic radiosurgery for both benign and malignant indications. 

He is active in research in breast cancers and has published in several peer reviewed journals. He has received support and funding from various agencies to introduce new treatment modality into NCCS and Singapore. He is currently engaged in running several local studies in breast, prostate and brain cancers as well as international collaborative trials with UK and the USA.

In addition, he is interested in the health economics of cancer care and cancer epidemiology and is in several collaborations involving researchers from other hospitals and government agencies including NUH, TTSH, KKWCH and A-star. He is also involved in cross border collaborative research with hospitals in the region.

His interest in epidemiology saw him kick-starting a cluster wide breast cancer registry with the support of his colleagues in the breast cancer multidisciplinary team. He additionally has a role in the Department of Cancer Informatics as its Deputy Director.

In his educator role, he has mentored students from medical students to specialist trainees under his care. He regularly lectures at Nanyang Polytechnic for  Allied Health students. He has been invited to be an examiner in both local medical examinations as well as overseas Radiation Oncology board examinations. He has also given lectures in local and international conferences
