The Division of Radiation Oncology (DRO) was the first radiotherapy facility to be set up in Singapore. It is currently Singapore’s largest radiotherapy centre, and serves both local and international patients. The division has more than 20 qualified radiation oncologists, each of whom specialises in the treatment of 2 to 3 cancer subsites. It works closely with the other oncology divisions (surgical oncology, medical oncology and palliative medicine) to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care for its patients. All malignancies (including paediatric cancers) are managed here.

Radiation therapy is delivered using the most appropriate technologies.

These include:

  • Proton Therapy
  • Computed Tomography (CT) simulators with 4D capability
  • Computerized Treatment Planning Systems
  • 3D Conformal Radiotherapy
  • Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)
  • Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT)
  • Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)
  • RapidArc® Volumetric Arc Therapy (VMAT)
  • 3D high dose rate Brachytherapy
