Nasopharynx cancer detection device can help relapse patients
12 Apr 2018 | Lianhe Zaobao
Dr Melvin Chua, Dr Tan Sze Huey and Dr Li You Quan from NCCS and scientists from Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) have developed a first-ever validated clinical tool that helps clinicians identify nose cancer relapse patients who are resistant to a repeat course of radiotherapy. It allows for more personalised treatment for various subgroups of patients with the disease. The prognostic web-based tool PRANCIS (Predicting Radioresistant Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Survival) was co-developed with radiation oncology software provider, MedLever, and is currently being applied in routine clinical practice.
