Megestrol is a medication used to treat advanced breast cancer and endometrial (lining of the womb) cancer.
It may also be used to improve appetite in certain patients facing significant weight loss.
It is a tablet taken by mouth, with or without food. Take exactly as instructed by your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Megestrol, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is too near to your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual dosing time. Do not double dose.
Megestrol is usually well tolerated and serious side effects are rare.
