Simple, nutritional and caring kits (simple servings of a hot nutritional drink) are served to patients at strategic time frames and locations* in NCCS. This aims to offer beneficiaries some relief from the discomfort (which can be aggravated by worry, anxiety or hunger) of extended waiting due to various inevitable circumstances.
Each serving may include a note of encouragement or positive quote-of-the-day that may be prepared by various volunteer groups in advance of the activity.
*Due to limited resources, this currently applies only to our chemotherapy facility.
To note patients' requests for hot nutritional drinks, prepare them, and serve them to patients.
To assist in raising patients' and caregivers' awareness of the support programmes available to them.
More often than not, our patients are comforted by the simple but helpful gestures of our volunteers, who are donned in the sunny yellow vest and a bright smile.
