Understand the principles of human genetics and human cancer genetics in the clinical care setting
Diagnose, manage and counsel patients with genetic disorders and cancer predisposition syndromes
Recognise cancer genetic traits in families and in cancer genetic differential diagnoses
Identify and perform molecular techniques for genetic analysis and interpretation
Be familiar with the utilisation of genomic alterations in selecting targeted therapies for treatment and risk stratification
Eligibility
Basic medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
Completed subspecialty training in an oncology related field/ internal medicine/ family medicine
Training Plan
Daily clinics with the Cancer Genetics Service
Trainees are expected to attend tumor boards as well as weekly case discussions and journal club
Participate in clinical conferences where available
All trainees are given opportunities for and mentored research training in clinical cancer genomics – clinical research as well as wet bench research opportunities available
