Application Process

Interested applicants may choose to train in any of the following programs

  1. Cancer Genomics Medicine 
  2. Experimental Therapeutics 
  3. Medical Oncology 
  4. Oncologic Imaging 
  5. Radiation Oncology 
  6. Supportive and Palliative Care 
  7. Surgery and Surgical Oncology

Registration required
  • S​ingapore Medical Council (SMC) 
  • Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
  • Malpractice indemnity cover from the Malpractice Protection Society (MPS)
  • ​No SMC/MOM approval needed

Eligibility
  • ​Basic medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) 
  • Completed 12-months housemanship/ internship postings 
  • Must be registered with medical council, ministry or relevant licensing authority for practicing medicine in home country
  • Must be eligible for Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Temporary Medical registration
  • Proven proficiency in English. Must meet SMC’s requirement if medium of instruction for basic medical degree is NOT English 
  • Possess 3 years of post-housemanship working experience OR postgraduate diploma or degree 
  • Must be eligible for Training Employment Pass and Visa from Ministry of Manpower, Singapore 
  • The eligible criteria and requirements of individual departments 
In addition to the above criteria, Clinical Fellows must:

  • Be sponsored by (i) the government, or (ii) regional health authority or (iii) an appropriate institution in the home country. For (iii), the doctor must be on current full-time employment (40 hours or more per week) with the sponsoring institution.
  • ​Basic medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) 
  • Completed 12-months housemanship/ internship postings 
  • Must be registered with medical council, ministry or relevant licensing authority for practicing medicine in home country 
  • Must be eligible for Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Temporary Medical registration 
  • Must be eligible for Training Employment Pass and Visa from Ministry of Manpower, Singapore 
  • Meet the eligible criteria and requirements of individual departments
  • ​Basic medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) 
  • Completed 12-months housemanship/ internship postings 
  • Must be registered with medical council, ministry or relevant licensing authority for practicing medicine in home country 
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Service testimonial from current employer 
  • Meet individual department’s eligibility criteria and requirements


Instructions:
 
  • Prospective applicants are encouraged to send their CVs, specifying the desired attachment period and the division they wish to apply to, to PGEU – pgeu@nccs.com.sg 
  • All applications are to be submitted using the NCCS application form 
  • Applicants are advised to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria as set out by NCCS, SMC | Temporary Registration (healthprofessionals.gov.sg) and MOM before they submit their applications 
  • Applications must be submitted at least 8 months before targeted commencement date for Clinical Fellowships and Clinical Observerships Applications must be submitted at least 3-months before targeted commencement date for Observerships (Hands-Off) and short attachments 
  • Please note that concurrent applications are not permitted. Kindly make your selection regarding the division that you are interested in. 
  • Successful applicants will be sent a conditional offer letter from NCCS-PGEU together with the terms and conditions of attachment. The applicant will be given 3-weeks from the date of offer letter to accept the offer. Failing to do so, the offer will lapse. 
  • The offer and start date of training will only be confirmed upon the successful application of temporary medical registration from The Singapore Medical Council (SMC), training employment pass from Ministry of Manpower, Singapore (MOM) and the completion of all other administrative procedures required for the attachment.
