Clin Asst Prof Chiang Jianbang

Dr Chiang Jianbang is a Consultant in Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), where he runs the Cancer Genetics Service (CGS). He looks after patients with lymphoma, sarcoma and skin cancers, and sees families affected by hereditary cancer syndromes such as HBOC and Lynch syndrome.

Understanding one's genetic profile is central to managing cancer risk. Dr Chiang's research focuses on cascade testing — ensuring that when one family member is found to carry a cancer predisposition gene, the rest of the family is offered testing too. His registry-aided outreach trial doubled cascade testing uptake in Singapore and has helped shape national policy.

He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored the clinical practice guidelines on hereditary cancer management. Dr Chiang holds a PhD from Duke-NUS Medical School, where he is also a Clinical Assistant Professor.
