Palliative Care Nursing Education

The Advanced Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing (ADPCN) is an enhanced step-up programme to the Specialist Diploma in Palliative Care Nursing (SDPCN), allowing nurses to have an advanced diploma certificate. Students with the SDPCN can offset some modules to complete the course. This programme is co-run by NCCS, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Assisi Hospice.

The main objective of the course is to upskill RNs with palliative care nursing knowledge and skills and prepare them for the job roles of RNs specialising in palliative care nursing at the advanced level.

Modules:

  1. Health Assessment and Clinical Decision Making (45hrs) 
  2. Applied Pathophysiology and Pharmacology (60hrs) 
  3. Evidence-Based Practice (45hrs) 
  4. Principles and Practice of Palliative Care (60hrs) 
  5. Serious Illness Management (60hrs) 
  6. Symptom Management in Serious Illness (60hrs) 
  7. Communication and Psychosocial Skills (60hrs) 
  8. Advanced Clinical Practicum in Palliative Care Nursing 1 (80hrs) 
  9. Advanced Clinical Practicum in Palliative Care Nursing 2 (320hrs)
