Dr Liu Jiayi is a Consultant with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2014 and entered Obstetrics & Gynaecology residency in 2015 after completing her houseman-ship. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG) and Master of Medicine (MMedO&G) in 2019 and received her specialist accreditation from the Singapore Medical Council.
Throughout her years of training in Obstetrics & gynaecology, Dr Liu has always enjoyed interactions with her patients and supporting them through their pregnancy or medical journey. She takes pride in providing holistic, patient-centric care for all patients and believes in shared decision making, allowing patients to actively participate in their management plan. She has received various awards such as SingHealth ‘Service from the Heart’ award for her excellent patient care.
Dr Liu is well versed in Obstetric Care for pregnant patients, management of common pregnancy conditions, labour and delivery. She is also proficient in common gynaecological surgeries such as hysteroscopic surgeries, myomectomies, cystectomies and hysterectomies. She has extensive experiences in managing various gynaecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, irregular menstruation and early pregnancy complications.
Dr Liu has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgeries such as hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures, which are known to confer the benefits of less post-operative pain and faster recovery for patients. She has attended various laparoscopic conferences and workshops internationally, constantly updating herself with the latest advancements. She is also interested in preconception health and believes in enabling women to be well prepared to embark on their pregnancy journey.
In addition, Dr Liu is also active in research and clinical education. She has published several papers in well recognised medical journals and presented her work in multiple international platforms. She is also actively involved in mentorship of junior doctors and tutorship of students from medical schools such as Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, SingHealth Duke NUS school and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Dr Liu advocates healthy living through regular exercise and believes mental and physical fitness is an important part of women’s health.
