Profile

Dr Kang specialises in all conditions affecting the hand and wrist - pain, numbness and injuries. His super-speciality is in complex reconstruction of limbs required after severe trauma or burns. He also has more than 10 years of experience treating hand and wrist injuries in children. 

He invented several surgeries - eponychial digital artery flap, thenar crease skin graft, lateral plating of middle phalanx fractures, minimal incision fixation of metacarpal fractures and co-authored other inventions - elastic tourniquet for paediatric upper limbs, catheter irrigation of severe infections, catheter irrigation of infected joints, technique of removing implants with broken screws, bilateral simultaneous endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, adipofascial flap for flexion contracture of fingers. 

He completed the prestigious Reconstructive Microsurgery fellowship in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Taiwan), and concurrently International Master Science Program in Reconstructive Microsurgery - an achievement held by few surgeons globally. Internationally, he is a panel discussant for advanced microsurgery to assist fellow surgeons around the world on complex surgeries.
