The 4th edition of the James Best Distinguished Lecture with Professor Soumya Swaminathan will be held on 20 March 2024.
Titled Climate Change, Public Health & Equity, the Lecture will offer a crucial perspective on the convergence of environmental dynamics and medical challenges. It examines the profound impact of climate change on health, particularly among vulnerable populations, and underscores the need for a medical response that integrates climate science, public health measures, and considerations of equity.
Professor Swaminathan emphasises the urgency of developing public health strategies to address changing disease patterns and health disparities exacerbated by climate shifts. Her call for inclusive policies aligns with the medical community's pivotal role in crafting adaptive and equitable solutions.
