Can a cancer patient on treatment have sex? What should I say to my colleague or friend diagnosed with cancer recently? Some of these questions may be too intimate for some. We, at CanHelp News have decided to explore these topics with our readers. We hope these tantalizing information will be helpful to you.

In the 1970s, a chicken virus called Rous Sarcoma virus (RSV) was found to be oncogenic, being able to transform cells to become cancerous. Since then, we have discovered other viruses that can cause cancers. Patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), were susceptible to opportunistic infections and to several types of cancers. In fact, some of the major cancer centres in the US were the first to be involved in the care of these patients. The treatment for HIV and lymphoma has evolved. Recently, one of our colleagues training in lymphoma returned after a year at the University of Southern California where he has done some research studying virus infection and lymphomas. He is sharing on the subject of lymphomas that develop in the setting of HIV infection.

In London, after the bomb blasts, life goes on and people continued bravely with their lives. As with cancer survivors, we gathered with many of them to celebrate living at SparkC@Marine Parade for CanSurvive day 2005. Read Mr Peter Tang's account and share with a cancer survivor that you know, be encouraged.
