CANCERWISE WORKSHOPS
All workshops are conducted by NCC's cancer specialists at:
a. Gynaecological Cancers
A comprehensive workshop that addresses concerns about female cancers such as cervical and ovarian cancers. Learn from NCC’s cancer specialists how to reduce your risks and what to do when you have suspicious signs and symptoms.

b. Liver and Stomach Cancers
Liver and Stomach cancers are among the top 10 cancers affecting Singaporeans. This workshop is designed to empower healthy individuals to recognise early signs and symptoms, identify risk factors and take measures to prevent it.

c. Nasopharyngeal Cancers (NPC)
NPC is the 6th most common cancer affecting men and women in Singapore. Every year about 300-400 new cases are disgnosed. What is this cancer and are you at risk of getting it? Learn more about the signs and symptoms and is there anything you can do to prevent it.

"LIVING YOUR BEST" SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAMS (English)
These programs provide patients and caregivers an opportunity to relate with others in similar situations, learn coping skills, build friendship, share experiences, reflect and grow. Sessions are led by Medical Social Workers with experience in these fields.

My Journey Through Cancer Begins
For patients with newly diagnosed cancers to share their personal experiences with their illness. This group session is most appropriate for patients who need to find solace in relating with other cancer patients. Treatment-related concerns, patients, personal and family dilemmas, lifestyle changes, support, commitment and motivational factors will be topics discussed.

b.
Breaking the Silence
Patients and their loved ones sometimes protect each other from knowing the truth about the illness. For some, their difficulties lie in not knowing what to say nor who to say it to. Breaking the silence also concerns patients who have kept secrets revolving around hurt, anger and despair, about expectations, about the fear of suffering, and about living.

Rediscovering Resources Within
This is a group for self-rediscovery of one’s inner strengths that are often lost when illness strikes. It is about regaining energy and strengths that worked. It is about finding one’s resilience in the midst of uncertainties.

What Is This Feeling
Feelings of amxiety, fears, grief and anger may stay with you without you being aware. Some people have longer periods of low or depressive moods. This group session explores these common feelings and look at how others are dealing with them.

4. SUPPORT THROUGH EMPOWERMENT, ENRICHMENT & RESOURCEFULNESS (STEER)
This comprehensive 1 year programme offers organized activities to guide patients and families through healthy living, strengthening family bonds and building resilience in coping with cancer. The STEER Programme runs on the 1 st Saturday of the month.
