CETUXIMAB(ERBITUX®)
What is Cetuximab?
Cetuximab is a chemo drug used to treat colorectal cancer. Other uses include breast and head and neck cancers.

Early side effects
- Nausea or vomiting may occur.
There are medications available that may prevent or decrease these side effects. If you are given these medications, take it when you experience retching.

- Fever and chills.
- Rash.
- Breathlessness.
- Constipation or diarrhoea.

Delayed side effects
- Acne-like rash may appear on the face, upper chest and back within first 3 weeks of treatment. The rash tends to resolve over time following cessation of treatment.
Avoid or limit sun exposure as sunlight can exacerbate skin reactions.
- Nail disorders consisting of swelling of the nails folds of the toes and fingers may develop, persisting for up to 3 months after cessation of treatment.
- Headache
- A drop in the blood cell counts may occur 7 - 14 days after treatment.
- Temporary hair loss may occur several weeks after treatment.
- Swelling of fingers, feet or lower legs.

Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
- Shortness of breath, hoarseness, difficulty in speaking, low blood pressure, occurring during or within 1 hour of infusion of the drug.
- Fever of 38°C or higher.
- Sore throat, cough, or mouth sores.
- Skin rash, itching or unusual redness.
- Fatigue or lightheadedness.
