Action Hair Salon holds charity hair show in support of National Cancer Centre Research Fund
Friday, 8 May 2009
Singapore, 8 May 2009 –A charity hair show will be held at the Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza tonight, in support of the National Cancer Centre Research Fund (NCCRF).
The show, organised by Action Hair Salon, will feature various hair creations by its Master Stylist Vinn Wong. All proceeds raised during the show will be donated to the NCCRF.
This is the first time that a hair show is being organised in support of cancer research. Commenting on the support from Action Hair Salon, NCC Foundation Programme Director Mr Eugene Sng said: “We are grateful to Action Salon Mr Sonnie Tan and their Master Stylist Vinn Wong for choosing us as the beneficiary.” The NCC Foundation is the administrative body for the NCCRF.
“We have so far received support from the art community and it is certainly heartwarming to see this gesture from the fashion industry. Our hope is that more people will realise that donations to research will help our doctors to get a deeper understanding of cancer. This will mean the patients will gain from their knowledge and therefore the benefit will cover a wider section of the community.”
Ticket holders who are invited to the charity hair show will be requested to make a donation either directly to the NCC Foundation or at the venue entrance. The show, entitled Reflections, is held in conjunction with the Audi Fashion Festival, which is on from 6-10 May 2009. The charity hair show begins at 11pm on 8th May.
