Our Wonderful liver:

The liver is the largest organ in our body. It is reddish brown in colour and is placed in the upper right corner of the body. It is a very important organ, because it stores and releases into the blood nutrients which comes from the food we eat. Other than that, our liver keeps the blood clean by getting rid of wastes.

Most importantly, it creates something called bile that breaks down fats and helps digest the food we eat. Blood moves around the liver through the portal vein and the hepatic artery

When you fall down, your blood stops flowing after a while. This is because your liver forms proteins that help to clot blood. It can also destroy harmful substances that get into our body, like alcohol. When the food we eat is digested, our liver helps to take out the minerals and vitamins. The liver is such a wonderful organ that it can repair itself when damaged!

The liver is a very important organ, and you should always have a nutritious diet to keep it healthy. Your liver needs plenty of minerals and vitamins, and eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of milk is good for it.
