There are no
miracle foods for cancer prevention. But there is a strong
connection between diet and cancer prevention.
Many dietary factors can affect cancer risk: types of
food, food preparation methods, portion sizes, and food
variety. Two ways to decrease our chances of getting cancer
are to increase fibre intake, lower fat consumption and
avoid cancer-causing foods.
The key is to have a balanced
diet and eat in moderation. Eat a variety of foods each
day. Variety ensures the intake of a spectrum of protective
nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, and phytochemicals
that have anti-cancer effects on the body.
