Broccoli and Cauliflower
Fish
Garlic
These are cruciferous vegetable rich with a chemical that stimulates enzymes that help to deactivate cancer-causing substances in the body. They are especially helpful against breast and colon cancer.
Oily or fatty fish, like salmon and mackerel, contain omega-3 fatty acids. Studies have shown that these inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
A recent American study found that people who eat garlic more than twice a week reduced their chances of getting colon cancer, as compared to those who did not eat garlic. It contains allyl sulfides, which limit production of harmful enzymes in the body that can activate cancer-causing chemicals.

Tomatoes
Berries
Soy products
They contain lycopene, which helps to neutralise free radicals which can damage a cell's genetic materials.
Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and raisins contain antioxidant chemicals which destroy free radicals in the blood that promote cancer.
Tofu, tempeh and soy milk contain isoflavones, which protect reproductive cells. These cells have a higher tendency to form cancer  because they divide rapidly when triggered by the body's own sex hormones.
