Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a detection
method that allows a doctor to look into the body through a long
and flexible tube called an endoscope. An endoscope contains fibers
that transmit light. An endoscope is most often inserted through
the mouth or rectum. During the examination, the doctor can take
a biopsy, or tissue sample, from the suspected tumour. The sample
is looked under a microscope to see if the cells are normal or
cancerous.
