International Study of the Genetic Epidemiology of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) in South-East Asia: A Case Control Study


About the Study:
We are recruiting healthy volunteers as control subjects in the genetic study of Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in collaboration with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). This is a multicentred study in South-East Asia and this study aims to identify the candidate genes involved in the development of NPC.

Potential Benefits:
Your participation will assist researchers in identifying candidate genes involved in the development of NPC, where high risk family members may benefit from screening.

Study procedures include:
1. Initial screening to check for eligibility for study
2. Completing 1 lifestyle questionnaire
3. Providing 20ml (4 tablespoon) of blood

Your participation in the study will be approximately 15 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
2. Age between 40 and 80 (preferably male population)
3. Healthy individual with no history of cancer
